Arisa Higashino who won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles badminton event at the Paris Olympics, announced on her social media that she has gotten married.

Higashino wrote on her X, "This is a personal matter, but today I married Yu Igarashi, a former badminton player and current coach who I've been dating for five years and who works at the same company." She continued, "I got engaged before the Olympics, but after talking with various people, we decided to register our marriage after the Olympics are over."

"He is a wonderful person who is generous and filled with kindness. When he was a player, I was very inspired by the way he approached badminton with integrity and stoicism. He always encouraged me when I was at my lowest, and he always made me smile at all times. Without his support, I would not be who I am today.

Before the Olympics, he really put me first and helped me out. I want to be with him in the future, and even in the next life.

I want to continue building a family filled with smiles and compassion. Although we are still inexperienced, I would appreciate it if you would continue to watch over us kindly."

Regarding her future plans, she wrote, "I also had another dream of aiming to be the world's best in women's doubles. In order to fulfill that dream, I will be switching to women's doubles. I am able to take on this challenge thanks to the support of so many people. I am filled with gratitude. I am excited about this new challenge.
