"Perfect Spanish♥" "Trilingual MVP" Yoshinobu Yamamoto's speech released by Dodgers official → American fans are excited "I love you" "Is there anything this guy can't do?"
The Dodgers' victory parade was held in Los Angeles on the 3rd (4th in Japan time). At the victory celebration event held at Dodger Stadium after the parade, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was named World Series MVP, gave a speech that has been met with a great response.
Los Angeles is home to a large Spanish-speaking population. He began his speech by greeting the crowd in Spanish with "Buenas tardes!" (Hello). Puerto Rican player Kike Hernandez, who was in the back, jumped up and down like he was at a rock concert, waving his arms around in excitement with a beaming smile. He then began his speech in English, asking, "You know what?" He continued, translating Yamamoto's statement that "we cannot afford to lose at any cost" in the postseason with "Losing is not an option." Wrobleski spun his arms around and let out a roar, and Banda also raised both hands in the air, creating a huge excitement.
He expressed his gratitude to the fans, staff, and other people involved in the event in English, and concluded by saying "Thank you!" in Japanese. While Yamamoto was speaking in English, Kike nodded repeatedly with a kind smile.
A video of Yamamoto's greeting in Spanish, along with the words "Buenas tardes, Yoshinobu!", was also posted on the Dodgers' official Spanish Instagram account (@losdodgers), and American fans have responded in droves with comments such as "Perfect Spanish, truly beautiful♥", "His Spanish is the best♥", "Trilingual", "Trilingual king♥MVP", "Beautiful pronunciation", "I love you", "My sweetheart", "Is there anything this guy can't do?♥", "Yoshi said 'Buenas tardes' in Spanish♥", "Kike has a proud face like a father", "Look at Kike looking so happy to see Yamamoto speaking Spanish", and "Kike is so excited".
