After the award ceremony, she responded to questions from the press and commented on receiving the award despite her main base of operations being the United States, "Even though I mainly play in the United States, I feel very grateful to receive this award from the JLPGA Tour."

Furue is not only the fourth Japanese woman to win an overseas major, but also the first Japanese player to win the Baer Trophy, which is awarded for the highest average strokes on the LPGA Tour. "It was a major win, so I'm very happy about it, and in the end I was able to win the Baer Trophy for the fewest strokes of the year, so I'm really happy to be the first Japanese player to do so, and it was a really good year," she said, reflecting on her fulfilling season.

Every year, each player appears at the award ceremony in a spirited outfit, but when asked about the key point of her outfit this day, she held up the watch she was wearing on her left hand. In fact, this watch had only arrived a week ago, and it was a one-of-a-kind Rolex with the Evian logo and Furue's name engraved on it, saying, "This is the Rolex I got when I won the Evian. It's written on the back (of the dial)."
